HEAD 29 octobre 2025, Art, emotions & IA, part 1 : «Alterated Realities and Real Alternatives». Haute école d'art et de design – Genève.

My first talk was titled "Alterated Realities and Real Alternatives", with a critical examination of the concepts of VR AR and Mixed Reality, with examples from the work of Forensic Architecture and Lucie Daniel-Watanabe, from human-computer interactions with the East German Z1013 from the 1980s, Terry Winograd's SHRDLU, texts by Peter Sloterdijk and Michel Foucault, Eratosthene's Earth coordinates and the Heideggerian Enframing (Gestell)... Last but not least, we've discussed the psychogeographies of videogames like Manifold Garden, Hellblade or The Last Guardian and their mediation of the concept of nature. Among them, the spectacular Fromsoft creation EldenRing, with its obvious references tu Jungian psychoanlytical concepts and Buddhist and Alchemistic cosmologies and philosophies. The understanding of such narrative and cosmological constructs being also essential in creating a meaningful user experience at the players' unconsciuous level; sometimes even relevant therapeutic tools.
