Geography

  • Our inhabited space" is a SNF NRP54 project aiming at a better representation of a society's spatial togetherness. The project consists of three research fields: 1) human density measuring with consideration of individual mobility, 2) developpement of cortographic tools for a better map-representation of the social space. 3) developpement of an agent-based-model of residential mobility according to individual models of urbaneness.   • ScapeToad (part b of OIS) : Most 2D-maps are used to represent topographic metrics: distances and areas measured on the map (multiplied by the map scale) give traveling distances and land surfaces. In some cases, this information is irrelevant or even misleading. As a cartographer, you may wish to use map metrics to represent other data, such as human populations or amounts of produced resources. This is what ScapeToad is for. 
  • "Étalement Urbain et Processus de Markov": A brief project made in collaboration with the University of Lausanne. Currently on standby. Further development planned. Simulations (restreint)  
  • Segregation of foreigners in the Swiss cities: A master degree project at the the University of Lausanne.
